Summer League Table 2010

E-mail Print

This is week number 16  of the Summer League/Accumulator for 2010 and there are only 1 match left so points really are important.  This year we are awarding section points, we hope that this will give more people a chance to win the league and also make it more interesting.  To make it clearer for everyone I have now deducted the worst three matches. The totals are accurate and you can see the deducted points as they are in red.  It was a great match this week but Andy Newton only managed 3 points even though he caught over 90 lb! There are now only 7 points separating the top 5 with only 4 points between 1st & 3rd.  Any questions or comments please feel free to email me!
Should there be a tie at the end of the league the winner will be the angler with the highest catch weight.

6 out of the top 8 in the open this week had over 100 lb and with points even more important over the last few weeks of the Summer Accumulator it turned out to be a great match. 20 anglers took part and fished Mucky Meadow and Furnace Pools. In first place was Kevin Williams, Wolverhampton, with 156 lb 8 oz from peg 12 on Furnace Pool. He fished corn over caster down the edge to good effect. In second was Max Galaszewski, Furnace Mill, with 152 lb 9 oz from peg 48 on Mucky Meadow Pool. Max had fewer fish than Kevin but a few of his carp were around the 15 lb mark. In 3rd place was Paul Cook, Mark's Tackle, with 115 lb 15 oz from peg 2.

The Sunday Open was on Mucky Meadow and Furnace Pools this week. Ed was sure that the fishery record would go as all around the fishery lots of people were catching lots of fish.  The winner was Steve Harris, Daiwa Gordon League, with a new match record for Mucky Meadow of 225 lb 2 oz.  Not quite able to beat Paul Cook's best of 255 lb 14 oz from Willow Pool.  Steve fished peg 38 and used caster and pellet to good effect catching carp to 10 lb. In second place was Duncan Newton, Redditch, with 168 lb 10 oz from peg 8 on Furnace, he used maggot and pellet.
