Furnace Mill Fishery

Last match before Christmas and the weather was against us. The overnight temperature dropped dramatically which meant there was ice on the pools this morning but Ed managed to clear the water and we held the match on Mucky Meadow Pool. Whether they were last minute shopping or just put off by the cold weather there were fewer anglers this week, in fact only 9 took part this week.

1st place went to Paul Evans, Furnace Mill, with a catch of 52 lb 9 oz from peg 46. He used caster to catch carp with an average weight of 4 lb and he weight also included over 15 lb of bream and roach. In second place was Chris Bradney, Steven's Tackle, who fished peg 38 and landed 22 lb 2 oz on mainly carp. Daz Randle, Mossella BC, took third place with 15 lb 8 oz of carp from peg 36. Everyone else weighed within ounces of each other from 8 lb 14 oz to 8 lb so lower down the order it was a very close match.
