What a hot sunny day! Although there has been plenty of spawning activity over the last five days there were still plenty of fish willing to feed. Steve Harris, SBS, won the Sunday Open here at Furnace Mill Fishery with 116 lb 9 oz of mainly carp. Steve fished peg 52 on Mucky Meadow Pool using pellet and corn to good effect both in the margins and approximately 8 metres out on the bottom.
Kev Williams, Wolverhampton, came second on peg 74 on Willow Pool, he fished pellet and meat down the margins to land
96 lb 10 oz. Andy Newton, Furnace Mill, was 3rd with 80 lb 10 oz from peg 64 on Willow. 28 anglers took part.

The larger 6mm feed pellet seems to be the best bait this week with red having the edge over green. Meat or corn fished over the top is producing good bags of fish and lots of success has been had with bread and Scopex Floaters on the top. Pleasure anglers have reported PB's this week with some taking carp to 15lb. Also good bream, roach and tench showing regularly.
Take a look at the Summer League page to see the updated points table.Plenty of pegs are available for pleasure anglers at the moment.
