E-mail Print
6 out of the top 8 in the open this week had over 100 lb and with points even more important over the last few weeks of the Summer Accumulator it turned out to be a great match. 20 anglers took part and fished Mucky Meadow and Furnace Pools. In first place was Kevin Williams, Wolverhampton, with 156 lb 8 oz from peg 12 on Furnace Pool. He fished corn over caster down the edge to good effect. In second was Max Galaszewski, Furnace Mill, with 152 lb 9 oz from peg 48 on Mucky Meadow Pool. Max had fewer fish than Kevin but a few of his carp were around the 15 lb mark. In 3rd place was Paul Cook, Mark's Tackle, with 115 lb 15 oz from peg 2.

Furnace Pool (pegs 1 to 30) and Mucky Meadow Pool (pegs 31 to 54)

Paul Evans commented that he had caught some fantastic roach. Big congratulations to Andy Gwillam who having landed a PB of 99 lb 15 oz on 6th June was thrilled to break the 100 mark with 108 lb 4 oz. T-shirt will be with you shortly!

Pellet, caster and hemp proved to be good feed baits this week with pellet, maggot and corn on the hook. Lots of pleasure anglers have reported great success with paste too.
